It seemed so big to me! And it was very
nice. Met a lot of nice people. Met my husband to be
during the Central years, loved being selected by the
Nite Owls, and attending events.
My life since graduation:
I got married in the fall after graduation to
"Joe" Larry Humble. We have two sons and three
granddaughters. We live just outside of Knoxville in
the Seymour area.
My parents moved here to retire from the Chicago area,
where they had moved because of work right after my
graduation from Central. We're glad to have them here.
I had returned to Chattanooga in September after
graduation, and Larry and I were married. We lived in
the Chattanooga area for two years before moving to
I've been in the court reporting business for 28 years
here, which has included about 23 and 24 years that our
two sons have been in our business with me. We've
enjoyed it very much, but now I'm slowing down some and
Larry and I are doing other things we enjoy. We are
members of Church Street United Methodist Church in
Knoxville. Also several ballroom dance clubs in our area
who have events regularly at our senior centers.
Husband Larry is related to a few folks we're trying to
contact today to see if they will come to the reunion:
Randall Payne, Joyce Riddle/Bobby Hicks. I notice that
a by-marriage relative of mine, Jimmy A. Rice, will be
there with Elaine, his mother married my uncle in later
life. I think it was then I started thinking about how
the retirement years were going to be, just to watch
those two! We look forward to a good time there and
seeing everyone again.
