Working on the bank staff, hanging out at
the rotunda, football games, Spinsterettes, basically
everything. I loved high school, and Central was the
place to be!
My life since graduation:
I married Ken Lautzenheiser in 1963. He
graduated from Rossville High. We lived in Indiana
while he was in the Army, then we were in Pennsylvania
for several years before moving back to Signal
Mountain. We moved to Tarboro (tiny town), North
Carolina in 1983 for Ken's work. We have two children,
Anne, who lives in Orlando; and Eric, who lives near us
in North Carolina. We have two grandsons, 11 and 6, and
we spend as much time as we can with them.
I am an archaeologist, and started my own cultural
resources firm about 22 years ago <www.ccrtarboro.com>.
I had been working at NCDOT in Raleigh, and started the
firm just to keep from driving to Raleigh. But somehow
it "growed". We now have 15 employees, and Ken came to
work for me 10 years ago. We work throughout the
Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, so I am on the road
a lot. I used to be in the field with the crews, but
now am more in meetings. I liked the fieldwork better!
I have just sold the company, effective Nov. 1, and I
will retire in April of next year. Ken is looking
forward to the sale date, and will retire soon after
