My life since graduation:
Tennessee State, thanks to J Pope Dyer helping me to get
a scholarship because I wanted to teach. Taught Health,
Physical Education in Florida, North Carolina, Delaware,
and Tennessee for 17 years. Married my husband Tom in
1963. Met him my junior year @ MTSU. He was a Marine
officer and pilot, so we lived in all the states listed
above. Tom was wounded in Viet Nam in 1967. We spent a
year at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia while Tom
recovered. When he received a medical discharge, we
moved back to Nashville, where he went to law school and
is now a practicing attorney. We have two daughters, and
six grandchildren who are the love of our lives.
From 1980-1995 I was a manager with World Book
Encyclopedia. Hired, trained, sold, and called on
schools in Middle TN. In 1996 I became a realtor and
have used my teaching and selling skills to have 13
successful years in real estate.
Having been a physical education teacher, I learned
to love sports. Tom and I follow the Tennessee Vols,
Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Titans and attend many
baseball and football games to watch our two grandsons
play. Needless to say we stay busy year round with
We are active members of Brentwood United Methodist.
Just found out that Barney Ottinger's daughter, John
White's daughter, and Ken Connelly live within two miles
of me. Small world!!!
Cannot wait for our 50th reunion!
