What teacher most influenced you?
J. Pope Dyer

Which reunions have you attended?
All

Which did you enjoy the most?
Each was special. It was always great to see former classmates. I look back and remember the last reunion Ken Hudgens

Fondest memories of your days at Central:
Standing around the rotunda! A special memory was the day Kay Ramsey and I were rushed for social clubs! We were in the 8th grade! (:)There are so many memories. One of which was Jimmy Akin having to ask my Dad for permission to take me to the ROTC Ball our senior year. My Dad was a minister and did not believe in dancing. Well, he granted my wish and I was crowned ROTC Queen. My Mom and Dad came! Best of all! J Pope Dyer having us to repeat the name of everyone in our class the first day of the year. Did not know then the impact it would have the rest of my life. "What a wonderful school Central High".

My life since graduation:
Attended Middle Tennessee State, thanks to J Pope Dyer helping me to get a scholarship because I wanted to teach. Taught Health, Physical Education in Florida, North Carolina, Delaware, and Tennessee for 17 years. Married my husband Tom in 1963. Met him my junior year @ MTSU. He was a Marine officer and pilot, so we lived in all the states listed above. Tom was wounded in Viet Nam in 1967. We spent a year at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia while Tom recovered. When he received a medical discharge, we moved back to Nashville, where he went to law school and is now a practicing attorney. We have two daughters, and six grandchildren who are the love of our lives.

From 1980-1995 I was a manager with World Book Encyclopedia. Hired, trained, sold, and called on schools in Middle TN. In 1996 I became a realtor and have used my teaching and selling skills to have 13 successful years in real estate.

Having been a physical education teacher, I learned to love sports. Tom and I follow the Tennessee Vols, Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Titans and attend many baseball and football games to watch our two grandsons play. Needless to say we stay busy year round with sports.

We are active members of Brentwood United Methodist.

Just found out that Barney Ottinger's daughter, John White's daughter, and Ken Connelly live within two miles of me. Small world!!!

Cannot wait for our 50th reunion!
