The friendships-those are the most
memorable. I really enjoyed being in J. Pope Dyer's
classes. What a brilliant mind. He had the ability to
bring out the very best in his students.
My life since graduation:
I moved to Florida in the fall of 1960, where
I met my husband, Ron. We both worked for Dun &
Bradstreet. After our son went away to college, I went
back to work for HealthPlan Services, Tampa where I did
workflow analysis and timing studies. We both retired
in the late 1990's.
We have 2 children: Cheryl Mallow works as an
administrative secretary for the Wakulla District
Schools, and her husband Tom is a pilot with the Florida
Highway Patrol. They blessed us with 3 grandchildren:
Josh - 1st Lt in the Marine Corps. (He is married and
will receive his wings in April to fly C130s) Amanda
Hammond is married to Justin and lives in
Crawfordville. Sarah is a senior at Wakulla High
School. Our son Lee works for Tampa Elecric in the
engineering department. He and our other "daughter" Amy
gave us 4 wonderful grandsons - Noah 11, Matthew 8,
Connor 5 and Zack 2.
We are very active in Lake Ellen Baptist Church where my
husband is a deacon. I teach Sunday School and work
part time as their financial secretary. We are also
involved in missions, traveling to Germany at least once
a year to work with our friends who are serving there.
