My life since graduation:
After graduation, I enlisted in the US Army, spending 2 1/2 years in Germany and returning home in 1963. This same year I married the "girl across the street", Judy Smith. We have been married 47 years and counting. We have one lovely daughter, who has given us 2 beautiful grand daughters. One is twelve and one is nine. In 1965 I began working for the L&N Railroad in Atlanta, GA. In 1970, we transferred to Chicago, IL for 2 years, returning to Atlanta in 1972. We transferred to Jacksonville, FL in 1983, to Huntington, WV in 1987, and back to Jacksonville in 1988. After many mergers and consolidations of railroads, I retired on January 1, 2000 from CSX Transportation as Director of Labor Relations. The majority of my career involved writing, negotiating and administering labor agreements. My hobbies are golf, fishing, pocket knife collecting, RV'ing, and woodturning. Our current home is on the beautiful St. Johns river, a great place for practicing the hobby of fishing.
