Fondest memories of your days at Central:
The rotunda, band and the Vagabonds

My life since graduation:
After graduation from Central, I entered the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  I graduated in 1966 with a B.S. in Journalism.

In December 1965, I married James W. Sullivan from Signal Mountain.  We began our career climb which took us to Winston-Salem, NC; Orlando, FL; and, in 1977, to Philadelphia, PA.  Along the way, we had 2 children, Laura and Matthew.

For the past 24 years, we have lived in the western suburbs of Philadelphia near Valley Forge.  Our children attended kindergarten through high school here.  Laura returned to Tennessee and graduated from Vanderbilt in 1991 with a major in political science and Russian.  She came back to PA and works for The Vanguard Group - many of you have mutual funds there.

Matt is a graduate of Penn State '96 with a degree in computer engineering.  He and his father, Jim (Red Bank '61, UTK '66) are software developers for the banking industry.  Their company is Trust Imaging Systems, Inc., and their document filing system is "Joshua".  Clients are scattered around the country.  I am their support system.

In the last decade, I have been a career volunteer.  I was vice-president (1998) and treasurer (1997) of the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association. Jim and I were also on the UT 21st Century Campaign Committee during that time.  We were so proud of the UT alumni support of the campaign.

I have been chapter advisor for the Alpha Delta Pi colonization at Villanova University, and secretary of the Great Valley Association, the oldest civic association in Pennsylvania. In March I decided to resign at the ends of terms and take a break in 2002. Last night, I was elected Elder in the Wayne Presbyterian Church and will be installed in May.  So, I have had a 5 month break from a tight schedule, and I am about to begin again.

We are not grandparents.  Our children are not married.  My husband and I keep a boat on the eastern shore of Maryland on the Chesapeake.  We have taken the boat from the Bay to Key West and back.  This summer we plan to head north to Massachusetts.  We have sailed in Greece, Turkey and France with friends.  My avocation is gardening - both food and flowers.  I specialize in things deer don't eat!  We live in an 18th century house with a 1929 addition, so I spend lots of time solving problems.  I have enjoyed seeing members of our class every two years at a mini reunion started by some of us who live out of Chattanooga.  I hope to see all of you this year.
