My life since graduation:
After
looking back over my shoulder, I remember 1962 as one of the best years
in
my life. High level of school spirit, all day Pep Rallies, Senior Prom,
ROTC
Honor Platoon, Mardi Gras in New Orleans are among the great memories.
Started
at Tennessee Tech in the fall of 1962, graduated in 1966, entered the
Army
right after graduation. Stayed in
active army for three years with
assignments
in Korea and Augusta, GA, then army reserves another six and a
half
years. Started civilian career
with Levi Strauss in Knoxville, TN, as
an
Industrial Engineer.
Spent
about 27 years in apparel manufacturing, made many household moves and
a
couple of marriages. Lived in
Etowah, TN, Miami, OK, Somerville, TN, Many,
LA,
Charlotte, NC, Gastonia, NC, Athens, GA, Fond du Lac, WI, where I
married
Mary Lou, Alexander, Egypt, Saint Louis, MO, Caryville, TN,
Knoxville,
TN, Anniston, AL and in 1997, back to good old Tennessee.
Also,
had
a few trips to Haiti, El Salvador, Mexico and Honduras. Currently living
in
Ooltewah, TN.
Upon
returning to the Chattanooga area, I opened an office for an Employee
Leasing
Company as an Account Manager (Sales). Three
years later, was
promoted
to Vice President of the Company. I
have an office in four cities,
therefore
I travel a lot, mostly one day trips.
In
September 2001, we bought a new home near Hunter Middle School in
Ooltewah,
TN. Mary Lou's son and his wife
are expecting our first grandson.
I
have enjoyed attending four of the previous reunions and looking forward to
the
40th.
In
closing, I would like to thank our Reunion Committee for all the work they
have
done in the past and for what they are currently doing for our future
reunion.
Also, special thanks to Butch Poole for putting together this
website.
