What song most reminds you of your school days?
Swaying arms interlocked and singing "THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN" at the Hammer and Anvil after the football games.  What a blast.
What teacher most influenced you?
Mrs. Leger
Who were your best friends at Central?
Steve Gaines, Gene O'Neal, and Danny Klemp (when I had some money for gas-LOL LOL)
What is your most memorable experience at the reunions?
Seeing how well we turned out.
What are your fondest memories of Chattanooga Central High School?
I attended about 14 different schools before moving to Chattanooga and entering Central. I came as a senior.  You all took me right in, for the most part.  It wasn't long before I had a reputation though.  I had a chip on my shoulders and it didn't take much to provoke me.  Some of the girls like to get me to "handle their boy problems" for them. Remember cancer alley? That is the first place I met Jimmy Duck. What a mountain of a man.  We hit it off greatly and we kinda took care of each other from time to time.  I loved the football games and the fun we had before, during, and after.  The senior party at the Harless's house was one not to be forgotten either. Though there only one year, I have more fond memories of central than all the other schools I went to together-way far more and sweeter too.
My Life Since Graduation
I got a scholarship to MTSU, but they didn"t think to kindly of me skipping classes even though I aced the finals.  So I lost  my scholarship.  I got married, the first time, when I was 19.  We had 2 sons and then divorced after being together only 4 years. I was single for 4 years and then a mutual friend of ours introduced my current wife, Marita, to me.  We have been married for 33 years now.  We have 2 sons also. Bret, 10  and Kelly, 23.  Kelly is a graduate of the new central on hwy 58 and he is married and living with his wife at Fort Leonard Wood Mo. I have 5 grand sons by my oldest son Robert III.  They live near Flintstone, Ga. so I get to see them pretty often.
Three years ago in Feb of 2004, I had 3 stents put in  my heart.  I made the doctor promise me 15 years so I could see my youngest grown.  I told him I would come back and haunt him terribly if he let me die to soon.  I am to mean to die, so I have been told. so I guess he has no worries...Ha Ha.  I spend most of my free time coaching Bret in baseball, basketball, and soccer. He is now playing flag football at Ooltewah Baptist and he loves it. His mother and I agree not to let him play tackle until he is in the 6th grade.  Oh boy....next year.  Kelly is an Eagle Scout and a fine Christian young man.  I am very proud of all my children and pray for thier safety and care daily.  I'll probably never retire though I hope to have the means to do so some day.

We   ARE  the best there is alive...  We are the class of 65.
