My
Life Since Graduation Let’s see. I graduated from UT Knoxville with a business degree and, after returning to school for additional accounting courses, I passed the CPA exam. I also have a master’s degree in accounting from Belmont University. My work life consisted of two and a half disciplines. One includes Vanderbilt University where I served as the financial guy for their IT Department and the second was and is auditing. I am currently an internal audit manager for the TN Department of Transportation and a Certified Fraud Examiner. So, I spend most of my day auditing and looking for fraud - which is a lot of fun most of the time. At least one evening a week I am an adjunct faculty member at Nashville State Community College where I teach accounting. My personal life consists of hanging out with my wife, Marilyn, who is an elementary school teacher and spending time with our three grandchildren. I run and bike and have completed five marathons (including a marathon in Greece) and several triathlons. Getting a little too old for such adventures now, so I am trying to relax a little more and think about retirement some day -- if my 401K ever looks like it has a heartbeat. Church, family, and well-being are the most important priorities in my daily struggles. I am a former Elder and Treasurer of the Priest Lake Presbyterian Church in Nashville; a small church near the shores of beautiful Percy Priest Lake. In all that I am and have been, I am truly blessed. Go Purple Pounders. |
