What are your fondest memories of Chattanooga Central High School?
Standing in the rotunda, having fun.  Riding to school with my high school sweetheart, working in the office for three years, slumber parties, double dating with Joyce and Bill, Janie and Gary, Judy and Johnny.  Getting in the trunk at the drive-in with Bill because Paul did not like tight places.  Sitting at the Rebel to see all the cars go by and see what kind of hubcaps everyone had and sip on a coke all night.
My Life Since Graduation

I married my high school sweetheart Paul. After graduation in 1965, we both worked with DuPont.  After three years I had a beautiful baby girl Paula and did not return to work due to shifts. I did go to beauty school so I could set my hrs.  Four years later I had a handsome son, Patrick.

After 30 years of marriage I lost my beloved husband Paul in a plane crash in 1995.  What beautiful memories I still cherish and feel so blessed that I had that kind of wonderful in my life.
I now try to encourage others by leading a grief share group in my church which I have been doing for 5 years.
I loved being at home taking care of my family and I had not worked for at least 12 years due to Paul's job being so demanding.   Five years after I lost Paul I joined  my daughter in Real estate.  Paula has been in Real estate for 19 years and is such a wonderful encourager and teacher.  I have found my place in my profession for 8 years now and I love it.

My, this has been such a journey past and present and I am so thankful for all the lives that have crossed my path.

I have no grandchildren, (I do have my brothers grandchildren who my daughter and I spoil) just a grand dog, Baily.  I do still have my healthy, 86 year young and I mean young, mother.

Gail McDaniel Strickland and I are still like sisters (since we have been together since we were 16) she being Paul's sister, also graduated in 65.

I want to thank Linda Smiley for all the updates and news about our former classmates.

Looking forward to the Cruise and seeing you all!

Sincerely,
Shelia Rice McDaniel

Update: July 13, 2010

After never dating in 15 years after the loss of my husband, I met Rocky Beach in Birmingham.  I happened to be visiting my best friend of 39 years when I met Rocky.  She and her husband gave their approval, and we married on May 21, 2010.  Rocky lived on Logan Martin Lake, now our "lake home" which is covered with Wareagle memorabilia, and we also have our home in Soddy Daisy where I lived when I met Rocky.  I also married a precious "Westie" named BoBo who loves me as much as I love him.
